THE BASICS
Mount St. Joseph University (3-10, 2-4 HCAC) drops to Franklin College (8-4,4-1 HCAC) 72-49.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Meredith Hartfiel started out the game on fire as she scored the first 10 points of the game for the Lions. After a well played quarter by both teams the Mount trailed by a score of 20-17.
The Lions continued to fight valiantly in the second quarter, against one of the toughest teams in the conference. Trailing by only 1 at the half 30-29, helping the cause was a lights-out shooting performance in the first half. The Lions shot 54.5 percent from the field in the first half to just 44 percent for the Panthers.
Franklin came out of the break hot from deep, as they connected on their first 3 shots of the half, all from behind the 3-point arc, quickly extending their lead to 10 at 45-35. Franklin continued to shoot lights out and shot 68 percent in the quarter.
The Grizzlies finished the game off strong to the tune of 72-49 victory over the Lions.
