Lions drop tough road game at Berea

LOCATION: Berea College (Berea, Kentucky)

THE BASICS:

Mount St. Joseph (0-2) struggled defensively against a sharpshooting Berea team that was able to convert on 13 three point buckets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Mount St. Joseph got off to a slow start, getting outscored 18-9 by Berea in the first frame.  The defense was unable to find their footing in the second quarter and the Lions went into halftime down by a score of 45-24.  The Lions were unable to get hot from the field coming out of halftime, unlike their previous game against Hiram.  The Lions had their best defensive quarter in the 4th, allowing just 15 points to Berea.  However, the Lions would go on to drop the game 79-45.

STANDOUTS:

Krystal Wannemacher was the leading scorer for the Lions on Tuesday, tallying 9 points in 23 minutes.  Wannemacher shot 50% from the field and was also 3-4 from the free throw line for the Lions.

UP NEXT:  

Next the Lions will travel to Denison University on Friday to take on Ohio Northern University.  Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
