Lions travel to Manchester for conference showdown

THE BASICS:

Mount St. Joseph played a very close game with Manchester throughout most of the battle on Saturday.  The Lions held a slim 25-24 lead going into halftime, which set up an epic second half battle.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Coming out in the second half the Lions looked primed to push to victory in a tough road match-up.  Mount St. Joseph came at Manchester with everything they had in a total team effort that saw eight different Lions score.  Lainee Studer and Brooklynn Sturwold led the charge for the Lions down the stretch, scoring 13 points and 9 points respectively.  The Lions battled hard but the Spartans proved to be too much to handle, as Mount St. Joseph dropped a hard-fought game by a score of 57-48.

STANDOUTS:

Lainee Studer was the driving force behind the Mount St. Joseph attack again on Saturday.  She was able to post a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds against the Spartans of Manchester.  She also added 5 steals to go along with her double-double.

UP NEXT:

The Lions have a week off before hosting Defiance next Saturday, December 17.  Tipoff at the Harrington Center will take place at 1:00 PM.
