Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Mount St. Joseph participated in the Charles B. Zimmerman Holiday Classic at Wittenberg University over the past two days. On Thursday the Lions opened up play against host Wittenberg, falling to the Tigers by a score of 73-29. On Friday, however, the Lions came out strong and took down Brescia. The Lions won by a score of 52-46, notching their first win of the season and closing out the Charles B. Zimmerman Holiday Classic on a high note.
GAME NOTES
- Lainee Studer had a solid showing for the Lions in the game against Wittenberg. She narowly missed out on a triple-double with nine points, nine rebounds and eight steals. On friday she led the way again, scoring 20 points while also leading the Lions in rebounds (7) and assists (4). This effort earned Studer a first team all-tournament selection.
- Kiana Ellinghausen made her way into the starting lineup for the first time this season. She was able to score 5 points and also register 6 rebounds.
- Brooklynn Sturwold came up huge for the Lions on Friday. She was able to play the role of sharpshooter, knocking down three buckets from beyond the arc and scoring 14 points total.
- As a team, Mount St. Joseph shot 41.7% from three-point land.
- The Lions forced 14 turnovers in their win against Brescia.

The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team will continue HCAC play when they travel to Bluffton on wednesday to take on the Beavers. The game is schedule for a 7:30 PM tip off.
