THE BASICS
The Lions (7-14, 6-8 HCAC) stay close at Transylvania University (15-6, 11-3 HCAC) but were unable to steal win 66-62 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions led the first quarter 20-17 and remained tied with the Pioneers at half-time with a score of 29-29 with a layup made by Lainee Studer. Studer also made a layup at the end of the third quarter to keep the tie going 45-45.

Taylor Brown came off the bench strong in the first with 10 points and 2 rebounds in the first half.

The Lions kept the game close in the fourth quarter trailing behind the Pioneers, then Erica Walsh made a jump shot with 57 seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 62. The Lions couldn't maintain the momentum as their opponent player made a jump shot and two free throws to put the game out of reach 

Transylvania's Katelyn Smith finished with 26 points and 3 rebounds.

STANDOUTS
Brown led the team in scoring with 17 points and 2 rebounds. Studer finished the night with 14 points. Ciera Phillips had a good night with 10 points as well. 

UP NEXT
The Lions travel to Franklin College on Saturday with the game set to start at 1 p.m.
