Brilyn Webb drops 26 points as the Lions fall at Franklin

THE BASICS
Mount St. Joseph University (7-16, 6-10 HCAC) falls short to Franklin College (16-7,12-4 HCAC) 57-53.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Brilyn Webb started out the game on fire as she scored the first 6 points in just three minutes of the game for the Lions. After a well played quarter by both teams the Mount trailed by a score of 12-8. 

The Lions continued to fight in the second quarter, against one of the toughest teams in the conference. Trailing by 11 at the half 25-16.

After the break, the Lions made a remarkable come back in the third quarter with a great team effort. Meredith Hartfiel came through for the Lions making 5 points.

Ciera Phillips came out in the fourth quarter making a layup and a free throw which had the score 40-35. At the five minute mark Webb came through with three 3-pt. jump shots to trail Franklin still by five, 55-50. Having 29 seconds on the clock Lainee Studer made two free throws to only trail behind the Grizzlies by 2 which was the closest they had been all game.

The Grizzlies finished the game with a 57-53 victory over the Lions.

STANDOUTS
Webb lead the way for the Lions with 26 points and 3 rebounds. Phillips also had a solid game with 9 rebounds to go along with 13 points. Hartfiel finished with 8 points.

UP NEXT
The Lions will play at home, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against Hanover.
