Mount St. Joseph unable to contain potent Anderson offense

Box Score

LOCATION: Anderson, Ind. (O.C. Lewis Gymnasium)

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (13-7, 10-3 HCAC) couldn't contain a potent Anderson University (12-8, 8-5 HCAC) offense on the road as the Lions fell 88-61.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mount St. Joseph got off to a sluggish start on the road at red hot Anderson, who had won their previous five contests. The Lions struggled shooting the ball in the first half, shooting just 38 percent from the field (11-29), and just 22 percent from the 3-point land (2-9). Poor shooting coupled with Anderson's dominance on the glass, where they collected 23 rebounds to the Lions 11, helped the Ravens  end the half with a 42-30 lead.

It was much of the same through the early part of the second half as the Lions continued to struggle to score, as well as stop the potent Ravens offense. The Ravens were able to maintain a large lead throughout the second half.

STANDOUTS
Femi Thompson led the way offensively for the Lions with 17 points, and 5 rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Lions will play host to Rose-Hulman (12-8, 9-4 HCAC) on Saturday in a match-up of two of the top three teams in the HCAC. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off. The game will be preceeded by an alumni game.
