Lions travel to Bluffton for HCAC showdown

BLUFFTON, Ohio -- Mount St. Joseph went into Wednesday night's HCAC matchup against Bluffton fresh off of their first win of the season.  The Lions fought hard from the tipoff but went into halftime down 39-21.  In the second half Mount St. Joseph's defense tightened up, as they were able to post their best two defensive quarters of the game after halftime.  However, the offense could not mount a comeback and the Lions fell 68-46.

GAME NOTES

  • Krystal Wannemacher (Payne, OH / Wayne Trace) was the offensive leader in points for the Lions on Wednesday, registering 13.  She was also able to pick up three steals and three assists. 
  • For the second straight game Brooklynn Sturwold (North Bend, OH / Mercy) was able to cash in multiple times from long distance.  She went 2-3 from three-point land, finishing with 7 points in the game.
  • Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH / Little Miami) was able to do a little bit of everything on Wednesday.  She came away with 9 points and was also responsible for 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.
  • The Lions forced 15 turnovers in their effort against Bluffton.

The Lions have another HCAC matchup this Saturday, as they travel to Franklin.  Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
