The Lions were able to stay ahead and win the second set 25-21 to take the 2-0 lead over Lakeland.  The Lions went into the third set looking to end the match.  They were able to keep the momentum and finish the set after a block from Alex Vohland (West Chester, OH/ Lakota West) and Ben Holt (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon).  The Lions won the set 25-22 and won the match overall 3-0.

Mount St. Joseph vs. Dominican:

The Lions then traveled to Illinois on Sunday for their next competition.  The first set was closely contended by both teams.  The Lions were able to win the first set 25-23 after a kill from Zach Storc (Columbus, OH/ Bishop Watterson).  The second set started off with a string of points for the Lions coming from two service aces from Brett Cooper (Cincinnati, OH/ La Salle).  The Lions jumped to a big league and took the second set with a final score of 25-14.  Mount St. Joseph went into the third set with a lot of momentum.  They were able to maintain the lead through most of the set.  After being up 16-8, Dominican started to produce some offense.  They came back to tie the game at 20-20.  Dominican was able to complete the comeback and win the third set with a final score of 25-23. The Lions wanted to end the match going into the fourth.  They were able to hold a lead and won the set after a kill from Brett Cooper.  The Lions won the set 25-20 and won the set overall 3-1.
