Lions land two on HCAC All-Conference List

CARMEL, Indiana - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the 2019 Women's Tennis post-season honors yesterday.

After a season that saw the Lions reach their highest level of conference success in program history, the Lions landed two players on the HCAC's post-season honors list. Senior Hannah Broermann (Okeana, Ohio/Badin) and freshman Erin Kallmeyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) both found their names on the Honorable Mention All-HCAC list.

Broermann spent most of the season as the Lions number two singles player, where she put together a 5-6 record. She was also a part of the Lions number one doubles team with fellow senior Blake Nelson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Amelia), the duo put together a 3-8 record as a pair this season.

For Kallmeyer it was a successful first season of collegiate tennis at The Mount. She also put together a 5-6 singles record, while playing most of her matches at the number three singles spot for Coach Chuck Murray. It was in doubles though were she did most of her damage, teamed with senior Kelsey Knodell (Delaware, Ohio/Rutherford B. Hayes) for much of the season. The duo played number two duos for the entire season, and put together a 7-4 record, including a 4-3 mark in HCAC play.

These two players being recognized by the other coaches in the HCAC is validation of a 2019 season that saw the Lions reach the HCAC tournament for the first time in program history.
