Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph men's volleyball team again traveled to Wittenberg for day two of the Jim Coleman Invitational. Again the Lions would be facing off with one of the best teams in the nation, as they squared off with Lancaster Bible. Lancaster Bible is currently among the "others receiving votes" section of the NCAA DIII Top-15.
The Lions were again led by junior right side hitter Jason Hascher (Miamisburg, Ohio/Alter) who set a new career-high with 19 kills in the defeat. Rey Sanchez (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) also turned another outstanding performance in his dual roles of setter/hitter. He was tied for second on the team with nine kills, and a .273 hitting percentage. He also dished out a team-high 21 assists in the match. For his performance Sanchez was named to the Jim Coleman Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The Mount's other two-way player Josh Kabel (Centerville, Ohio/Alter) also came away with nine kills, while distributing 15 assists.
"This weekend proved to me that we can play with almost anyone in the nation" Said Coach Neiheisel. "I feel like Lancaster Bible was probably better than the Southern Virginia team we played yesterday, and again we had an opportunity to win the match."

The Lions (1-2, 0-0 MCVL) will open their 2020 home slate next weekend, when the welcome Thomas More and Millikin into the Harrington Center for two days of Volleyball action. The Lions will square off with Thomas More at 5:00 PM on Friday, followed by the Saints facing Millikin. Then on Saturday the Lions and Millikin will take to the court again at 11:00 AM.
