Cincinnati, Ohio—In heartbreaking fashion the Mount football program dropped their season opener to Rose-Hulman. Looking to rebound from the first loss of the season and capture their first win, the Lions will be traveling to Franklin College. The Grizzlies of Franklin College have served as one of the biggest rivals to the program over the past several years, and a game that every member of the roster looks forward to competing in. Franklin has been a dominant power in the HCAC over past 10 years. This domination has also been on display against the Lions, as they have won 9 out of the last 10. When the two teams last met, during the 2019 season the Lions defeated the Grizzlies 50-27.
This season the Grizzlies will enter the match-up with a 2-0 record after opening the season up with wins over Anderson and Manchester Universities. The Grizzlies have been very impressive offensively averaging 52.5 points per game. The Franklin College defense has been able to force several turnovers in just two games, including 7 total interceptions. While they have posted impressive stat lines, both of their games have came against opponents who have struggled combined for a total 0-4 record to date.
