Box Score 2 Cincinnati, Ohio—This season has seen the Lions build an 11 game win streak dating back to their opening doubleheader against Trine. On Saturday the Mount Volleyball team played host to MCVL power Fontbonne for a double header that also served as the Lions senior day. During the ceremony the program said their goodbyes to just one senior, Derek Demaison. This doubleheader saw the Lions win streak come to an end, as they split matches with Fontbonne.
RESULTS
-In the first match the Lions fell short in 5 sets 25-22, 17-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-6
-The following game saw the Mount comeback and win, in 5 sets 15-25, 20-25, 29-27, 25-17, 15-13
NOTEABLES
-Jason Hascher was phenominal in both games for the Lions. In the first match Hascher posted 20 kills while also totaling 11 kills. In the following match Hascher was the key to the Lions win, racking up 37 kills.
-Rey Sanchez was key in setting up the Lions scoring as he had 39 assists in game one followed by 41 in game 2. Additionally in the second game Sanchez racked up 8 kills.
-The pair of Demaison and Craig Dannemiller defensive performances were a huge part of their win in the second match. Demaison totaled 11 digs, while Dannemiller totaled 12.
UP NEXT
