CINCINNATI, Ohio - On Saturday, January 22nd your Mount St. Joseph University Track and Field team opened up the 2022 campaign with the first ever indoor collegiate track and field meet taking place in the new Centennial Fieldhouse. The Fieldhouse, which opened in February of 2021, provides the Lions with a six-lane, 200m running track that is the only indoor NCAA regulation-size track in the region. The meet consisted of seven teams total, as the Lions faced some strong competition. 
On the men's side, Junior 
Justin Dreyling (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Reading) got things going for the Lions. Justin was crowned the champion in both Long Jump and Triple Jump. Justin notched an impressive 6.67m in Long Jump and a 14.23m in Triple Jump. The men's Distance Medley led by Freshman 
Ty Richardson (Mooresville, Ind./Mooresville), Sophomores 
Chayce Helms (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison), and 
Jacob Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Clark Montessori), and Senior 
Mason Worthen (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Withrow) were impressive finishing with a time of 11:52.76. 
On the women's side, the Lions were led by Freshman 
Hannah Keith (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Anderson). Hannah finished third overall in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.46, and also finished third in the 200m Dash with an impressive 28.77 time. Senior Caitie Biehle also had a stellar day finishing fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:35.90.
The Lions will be back in action this Saturday, January 29th as they travel to Ada, Ohio at Ohio Northern University to compete in the Joe Banks Invite.
