GREENCASTLE, Ind – On Saturday, February 5
th your Mount St. Joseph University men's and women's track and field team traveled to Depauw University to take part in the Tim Hreha Memorial Indoor Invitational. The meet was originally scheduled for Friday, but got postponed to Saturday due to weather. Both teams competed well as both teams finished 7
th overall.
The women's team got started with a very solid performance in the 60m dash from freshman
Hannah Keith (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Anderson) with a qualifying time of 8.41s. In the finals Keith would finish with a time of 8.45s which was good for 3
rd in the event. But, Keith wasn't done yet running another personal best in the 200m dash. Keith finished with a time of 28.09s which was good for 4
th in the event. Senior
Caitlin Biehle (Cincinnati, Ohio/ New Richmond) kept the ball rolling for the Lions posting a personal best 2:34.52 in the 800m run earning 9
th place in the meet. Sophomore
Kayla Hess (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Seton) continues to improve as the season goes on. Hess finished 10
th in the mile run with a personal best time of 5:56.28.
On the men's side, Junior
Justin Dreyling (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Reading) got it done jumping and running. Dreyling finished first in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump with jumps of 6.66m and 14.22m. Dreyling also finished 2nd in High Jump with a jump of 1.78m. Finally, Dreyling completed his day finishing 10
th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.30s. Senior
Chase Samples (LaGrange, Ky / Oldham Co.) kept the momentum going in the 400m dash with a time of 54.16s, a 6
th place finish overall.
