CINCINNATI, Ohio - The "Road to Salem" for the Mount St. Joseph University softball program now goes through the nations fourth-ranked Salisbury University Sea Gulls. The Lions head to Maryland to the home field of the Sea Gulls aptly named Sea Gull Softball Stadium with a spot in Salem, Va on the line.

HOW WE GOT HERE
The Lions earned their place amongst the nation's final 16 by winning the Geneseo, NY regional last weekend. They did so by taking down the host of the regional #19 SUNY Geneseo, and then beating #23 Babson twice over the next three games to win the regional. For their performance in the regional
Kelsi Stevenson,
Kamryn McCool and
Casey Kemp were named to the All-Region Team, while
Elizabeth Ivers was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Regional.
Salisbury earnerd their spot this weekend by winning the regional that they were the host of a weekend ago. The took down Framingham State in their regional opener before taking down Endicott on back-to-back days to secure their spot in the final 16.
This sets the stage for The Mount to head to the east coast with a berth in the Championship round of the NCAA Tournament on the line.
