CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference released their post-season awards and all-conference performers today. Mount St. Joseph University's men Lacrosse program has three Lions that are represented. Sophomore Mason Meilinger capped off an impressive second year at the Mount finishing with All-HCLC first team honors. Joining Mason would be teammates Austin Combs and Jackson Pruitt who earned a spot on the All-HCLC Second Team honors.
Sophomore Mason Meilinger was outstanding this season for the Lions as he led the offensively in the 2023 season. In 13 games this season, Meilinger has been able to score a team high 37 goals while adding 3 assists on the year. In the HCLC, Meilinger finished 4th in goals per game with 2.84.
Junior Austin Combs is coming off his second consecutive season making the All-HCLC all conference team. On the year, Combs was a defensive force for the Lions. He led the Lions defense with 28 caused turnovers while also scooping up a respectable 38 ground balls. Combs was also able to find ways to contribute on the offensive end this season as he was able to score 2 goals.
Finally, Sophomore Jackson Pruitt earns his first All-HCLC honor. The sophomore defender tallied very respectable numbers on the year with 17 caused turnovers and 28 ground balls. The 17 caused turnovers sits Pruitt inside the top 10 per game average in the HCLC.
