Stellar Start to Season has MSJ Women's Volleyball Ranked for First Time Since 2008

CINCINNATI, Ohio - For the first time in 15-years the Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team finds themselves ranked amongst the nations elite programs. In the NCAA D-III coaches poll released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) today the Lions are ranked as the #22 team in the nation. According to the AVCA this is the first time the Mount has been ranked in the poll since 2008.

Coach Spinney and the Lions have earned this honor thanks to a perfect 6-0 record to open the season, despite playing to this point what is ranked as the 16th toughest schedule in the nation.

Amongst those six wins they already have a pair of signature wins, over then ranked #21 Christopher Newport and #15 Wisconsin Stevens-Point.

The Lions will put that #22 ranking on the line again this weekend as they head to Muskingum to take part in the Muskie Invitational. At the tournament they will play Muskingum, Baldwin Wallace and Marietta.
