ADA, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph wrestling team traveled to the Ohio Northern Invitational over the weekend. Coach Mason and his Lions had a quartet of wrestlers place within their weight class, and multiple others score points toward the team score.
Leading the way for the Lions was
Desmond Diggs who came into the event ranked 10th in the nation at 141 pounds. Diggs finished third in the event, going 4-1 on the weekend.
Dylan Deck also finished third at 165lbs, Deck also put together a 4-1 record on the weekend.Â
Jorden Zigo finished 4th at 133lbs, scoring 15.5 points toward the team score. Zigo lost his second match of the event, then won three straight in the consolation bracket to get himself in to the third place match. The final Lion that placed was sophomore
Jermaine Poynter, who placed fifth at 197 lbs.
