CINCINNATI, Ohio – On Wednesday, January 31
st your Mount St. Joseph University women's basketball team welcomed the Grizzlies of Franklin College to the Harrington Center for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Lions had no trouble finding the basket jumping out to a 12-point, 47-35 lead heading into halftime. Following halftime, the Lions continued dominate offensively setting a season high in points scored taking down the Grizzlies 91-78.
To begin play, the Lions dominated at both ends of the floor. A 16-4 run sparked the Lions offense including two and-one plays from 
Karlee Mills and 
Hailey Guingrich. The Grizzlies threatened but couldn't cut the deficit to single digits. A late jumper from 
Morgan Jenkins solidified the Lions lead at 28-13 after the first quarter of play.   
In the second quarter, the Grizzlies would answer back in a powerful way. Franklin began the second quarter on a 12-0 run cutting the Lions lead to 28-25 with 6:30 remaining in the first half. But, the Lions would have an answer as 
Annabelle Williams knocked down a huge three to stop the run while fueling the Lions attack. Following the made three, the Lions offense looked rejuvenated outscoring the Grizzlies 16-10 to close the half on top 47-35.  
To start the third, the Lions continued to build their lead. The Mount began the half on a 10-4 run to take an 18-point lead with 5:33 remaining in the third quarter. Franklin would provide some resistance but not for long as the Lions offense would explode again. A 12-0 run boosted the Lions lead to 73-46 with just under 2 minutes left in the quarter. Franklin ended the quarter scoring six unanswered points but still trailed the Lions 73-52 with one quarter left to play.
To begin the fourth, the Grizzlies again got the momentum early. A 10-2 run got the quarter started for the Grizzlies cutting the Lions lead to 75-62. Following the run, the Lions answered building their lead back to 19 with a layup from 
Madison Drummonds. The Grizzlies were able to cut the deficit once more but not enough to threaten as the Lions took down the Grizzlies 91-78.
Mills led the way offensively in the victory finishing with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Drummonds had a huge game finishing with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. 
Annabelle Williams was efficient off the bench finishing with 10 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 3-5 from beyond the arc.

rd when they travel to Richmond, Ind. to take on the Quakers of Earlham College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1PM.
