CARMEL, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team landed four players on post-season All-HCAC teams announced by the league today.
Madison Drummonds,
Karlee Mills and
Anyiah Murphy were all named Second-Team All-HCAC, while
Morgan Jenkins was on the leagues honorable mention list.Â
Murphy was the Lions leading scorer this season, averaging 14.2 ppg which ranked her 9th in the league in scoring this season. She did so while shooting 39.5% from the field and 32.2% from three and onlly playing 27.6 minutes per game. She was also a standout on the defensive end for Coach Elston, with 62 steals good for third most in the league this season.
Mills was the team's second leading scorer this year averaging 13.8 ppg, and scored the 1,000th point of her career in a February 8th win over Earlham. She was the top 3-point shooter in the league this season, making them a at 39.2% clip and the third best free-throw shooter making 83.9%.Â
Drummonds led the Lions in minutes played this season, averaging 32.7 mpg. She was also the teams leading rebounder, hauling in 8.6 per game, which was good for fourth in the league. Drummonds was no slouch on the offensive end, averging 12.2 ppg, while shooting a team best 44.2% from the field.Â
Lions do-it-all guard
Morgan Jenkins was named honorable mention, averaging 9.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.5 blocks per game this season. Jenkins was also the Lions top perimeter defender all year long.Â
Coach Elston and her all-conference players will be on the road on Friday, playing the #3 seed the Hanover Panthers in the HCAC semi-finals. That game will tip-off at 7:00 PM at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky.
