Men's Golf Finishes 3rd At Stateline Shootout

CROSBY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University men's golf team hosted the 2026 Stateline Shootout over the weekend, after two days and 36-holes of golf the Lions finished third in the event.

On day one of the event freshman Ty Huber led the way, firing an even par 72, carding two birdies and two bogeys around 16 pars. Sam Reynolds shot a one-over par 73, with a birdie and a par of bogeys.

In round two it was Matthew Ralph leading the Lions, the freshman struggled on the front nine going out at 5-over, with three bogeys and a double. After making the turn Ralph was locked in, a birdie on 11 got it rolling and back to back birdies on 14 and 15, coupled with a bogey free nine saw him come in three under on the back. All told he shot a two-over 74 in the second round.

Ralph continued his torrid pace in round three, on the front nine he carded four birdies and a single bogey to shoot his second consecutive nine hole 33. He would also play the back nine under par, on the strength of an eagle on the par-4 16th, shooting a career-low 4-under 68. After a tough opening round he would finish the tournament just 2 over par, and in a tie for third place in the event.

Ty Huber finished the event in a tie for 8th place at 4-over par, Reynolds finished +13 and tied for 33rd, Seth Hegemier was +19 and tied for 39th and Logan Lampe rounded out the team score at +30.
