Top-ranked Heidelberg University pounded out 20 hits, and were aided by seven Mount errors, as they knocked off the Lions, 14-0. The Mount, 2-2 overall, will be back in action tomorrow in Florida when they play a doubleheader against Muskingum University.
Heidelberg led by a 4-0 score after three innings of play, and then added a five-run fifth inning as they rolled to a large lead off Mount starter Brandon Bouley (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton). The Mount was only able to connect for six hits, all singles, in the game. Ben Flannery (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) had two hits for the Lions, while Justin Shelton (Cincinnati, OH/Anderson) added two walks. Seven different Mount players committed errors, leading to four unearned runs.
