Lions' men's lacrosse team posts first win of season with a 23-7 home victory over Centre College

The College of Mount St. Joseph won their first win of the 2011 campaign today when they knocked off Centre College at home, 23-7. The Mount, 1-3 overall, will be back in action on Mar. 12 when they host Washington & Jefferson College.

Chris Uselmann (Carmel, IN/Wesfield) tied a Mount single-game record with seven goals and the Lions set a team record with 23 goals, as they rolled to the win over the Colonels. Uselmann scored three goals in the first 4;14 of the game as the Lions led by a 5-1 score after the first quarter and a 14-3 score at halftime. Uselmann also added two assists while teammates Will McClanahan (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) and Mike Murphy (Crestwood, KY/Oldham County) contributed five goals each. Eight different Lions scored in the game. Colin McSharar, who started in goal and played nearly 41 minutes, allowed four goals and posted five saves, recorded the win.
