The College of Mount St. Joseph led by a 6-5 score at the half but saw host Trine University score four unanswered goals to start the second half, as they went on to a 10-9 win over the Lions. The loss ends the Mount's six-game winning streak and drops the team's record to 7-6 overall, 4-2 in the MLC. The Lions resume action on Apr. 27 when they play at conference-rival Fontbonne University.
The Lions got goals from six different players in the first half against Trine, staking them to a one-goal lead. Will McClanahan (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) and Anderson Morgan (Mason, OH/Moeller) scored goals in the second half, cutting the Trine lead to 9-8, but the Mount could not knot the score or forge ahead. Trine scored its last goal with 5:47 to play in the game while McClanahan tallied his third goal of the game with 1:37 to play for the final margin. Morgan had two goals and two assists while McClanahan also had an assist. Colin McSharar (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) had 16 saves in goal.
