The Lions got goals from 11 different players today as they rolled to a 31-2 home MLC victory against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Senior Day. The Mount ends the 2011 regular season with a 9-6 overall mark, 6-2 in the conference and will return to action on May 7 against Aurora University in the MLC Tournament held in Adrian, MI.
The Mount jumped out to a 23-1 lead at the half and out-shot their opponents, 60-6, including 43-4 in shots on goal, for the game. Colin McSharar (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) started in goal and played the entire first half, and the end of the fourth quarter, recording two saves and the win. Cody Nolan (Mason, OH/Mason) played nearly 27 minutes in goal for the Mount. Each allowed a goal.
The Lions' offense was paced by Anderson Morgan (Mason, OH/Moeller), who had six goals and four assists, while teammate Peter Thompson (Homewood, IL/Homewood-Flossmoor). had six goals and an assist. Mike Murphy (Crestwood, KY/South Oldham) added five goals and two assists.
Seniors Daniel Blair (Clinton Township, MI/De La Salle), Daniel Lind (Cincinnati, OH/Elder), John Lich (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) and McSharar were honored before the game.Â
