Mount men's lacrosse team ends regular season with a 23-3 win over MSOE

The College of Mount St. Joseph rolled out to a 17-0 lead at the intermission today and never looked back, as they won a MLC game at Milwaukee School of Engineering, 23-3. The Lions, winners of six straight games, end the regular season at 9-7 overall, 7-2 in the conference and will next play on May 2 at Aurora University in the semifinals of the MLC Tournament.

The Lions enjoyed a 42-22 advantage in shots today, including 34-8 in shots on goal, as they scored a season-high 23 goals against MSOE. They had a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and nine different Mount players tallied goals in the first half. Twelve players in all scored for the Lions in the game, with Mike Murphy (Crestwood, KY/South Oldham) leading the way with four goals. Will McClanahan (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) added five assists. Cody Nolan (Mason, OH/Mason) and Joe Illencik (Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney) each played a half in goal, combining for five saves.
