Mount women's lacrosse team ends 2012 season in the MWLC Tournament

Top seed Adrian College jumped out to a 4-0 lead, and held an 11-4 advantage at the half, as they posted a 19-5 win today over the Lions in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Tournament semifinals. The Mount, the fourth seed in the tournament, finishes the 2012 season with a 5-10 overall mark - and their first-ever appearance in the MWLC Tournament.

Adrian, which moves on to the MWLC Tournament championship game with a 15-2 season mark, led 4-0 with 25:58 to play in the first half. Chrissy O'Hara (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) got the Mount on the scoreboard with 25:31 remaining in the first half and teammate Heather Scholle (Cincinati, OH/Lakota West) scored back-to-back goals to make the score 8-3 later on.

With Adrian leading by a 9-4 score in the second half, the Bulldogs would score seven unanswered goals to take a commanding 16-4 lead. They also tallied the last three goals in the game. Adrian out-shot the Mount, 32-15, including 26-10 in shots on goal. The Lions lost by a 16-2 score at home in the regular season to the Bulldogs.

Amanda Holmes (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) and Sarah Moderbacher (Ross, OH/Ross) also scored for the Mount while Chelsey Siefke (West Harrison, IN/East Central) added an assist.
