Visiting West Virginia University Institute of Technology scored the game's lone goal 8:18 into overtime today as they came away with a 1-0 win over the Lions. The Mount, 2-3-1 overall, is back in action on Sept. 19 at Wittenberg University.
Both teams had solid scoring chances throughout the game, as WVA University Institute of Technology held a 16-10 shots advantage through regulation. The Golden Bears, who out-shot the Mount 3-0 in OT, got the game-winner after a scramble in front of the Lions' net following a corner kick. They also held a 7-3 advantage over the Mount on corner kicks. The loss by the Lions snaps a two-game winning streak.
