Box Score

Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference leader Augustana College bolted out to a 9-0 lead on Saturday afternoon, and went on to a 19-6 win over the Mount at Schueler Field. The Lions, 5-5 overall, and 2-3 in the conference, will host Senior Day on April 14 when they host a conference match-up against Concordia (WI) University.

The Vikings ran their record to 10-3 on the season, and 5-0 in conference play by utilizing a strong offense and stalawart defense. Facing a 10-1 deficit at the half, the Lions got on the scoreboard twice, early in the second half, with Kaci Overly (Morrow, OH/Little Miami) and Chrissy O'Hara (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) tallying goals. The Lions, however, would get no closer than nine goals, the last time at 18:52 in the second half, on O'Hara's team-leading third goal of the game, making the score 14-5. Augustana would score five of the game's final six goals. Erica Walsh (Louisville, KY/Sacred Heart) and Nicole Sifri (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) also scored for the Mount, who got an assist from Walsh.

Mount goalies Paige Apel (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) and Jacqui Tackett (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) combined to make 16 saves. Augustana out-shot the Lions, 44-14, including 35-12 in shots on goal. The Vkiings held a 15-12 in draw controls.
