Visiting Augustana College continued its winning ways of the 2014 season on Saturday afternoon at the Mount, as they rolled out to a 9-1 halftime lead and posted a 22-4 victory over the Lions, to run their record to 11-0 overall, 5-0 in the MWLC. The Mount slips to 8-6, 5-4 with the loss and will next play on April 23 when they host non-conference opponent Defiance College.
Augustana bolted out to a 3-0 lead against the Lions, but saw the Mount's Chrissy O'Hara (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) notch a goal at 18:47 of the first half to cut the deficit to 3-1. The Auggies would add the next 12 goals, however, and lead 15-1, before the Lions would socre again, with Samantha Hughes (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) tallying a goal at 10:23 of the second half. Isabel Harney-Davila (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) and teammate Erica Walsh (Louisville, Ky/Sacred Heart) added the Lions other two goals in the game - all unassisted.
The Lions were out-shot 35-15 in the game, including 32-10 in shots on goal. Bristyl Webb (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) had 11 saves.
