Lions' men's soccer team clipped by Thomas More College, 2-1

Host Thomas More College scored the go-ahead goal in the game's 77th minute of Sunday afternoon and held on to post a 2-1 win over the Lions. The Mount, 1-1 on the season, returns to action on Sept. 3 when they host Muskingum University.

The Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the game on a goal at 47:38 before the Lions knotted the score at one-all in the 68th minute of action. Freshman Zachary Kilmer (Florencek, KY/Dixie Heights) netted the tying goal when he scored off a pass from Michael Huber (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond)l. Thomas More's Eli Nienaber netted the eventual game-winner at 76:20 of the game.

Austin Cagle (Independence, KY/Simon Kenton) started in goal for the Lions, playing just over 78 minutes and allowed two goals. He was relieved by teammate Jonathan Hurley (Lexington, KY/Paul Lawrence Dubar), who played nearly 12 minutes.
