Volleyball wins wild five set match at Franklin

THE BASICS:
The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team snagged a huge HCAC victory at Franklin, keeping hopes for postseason play alive with win by the score of 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-15, 19-17. The top six teams in the HCAC advance to the conference tournament. The win keeps MSJ's hopes alive with two matches remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mount (10-17, 3-4 HCAC) rallied back from down 14-11 in the fifth game, tallying 15 kills in the deciding set compared to nine for Franklin (15-12, 4-3 HCAC). The Mount hit .154 for the match, barely better than Franklin's .144. Each team had more than 100 digs and Mount hitters took 195 swings while Franklin racked up 180.

STANDOUTS
Jessica Wilgenbusch led the way with a double-double -- 13 kills, 24 digs -- and six block assists. Emily Bostian added 12 kills and five block assists. Hannah Losey had 10 kills.

UP NEXT
The Lions take on Bluffton University (15-10, 6-0 HCAC) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harrington Center.
