THE BASICS
Mount St. Joseph University (10-17, 3-4 HCAC) fell to Bluffton University (15-12, 6-1 HCAC) 3-0. The set scores were 25-17, 25-13, and 25-22. The Lions are still alive for postseason play but the team will need not know its fate until Saturday when all the matches conclude.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions jumped out to an early 7-3 lead, feeding off the home crowd, but Bluffton's powerful offensive attack and tough serving helped them rally to win set one. Bluffton exploded in set two, hitting .522 in the game. The Lions battled in game three and had the game tied at 14 points. Bluffton would pull away in the end to close out the match.
STANDOUTS:
Jessica Wilgenbusch led the Lions with 10 kills and five digs. Emily Bostian and Jadah Jackson ended their nights with five kills each. Cailey Plemmons led all Lions with nine digs.
