Mount men's lacrosse team edged on road by La Roche College, 8-7

The Mount St. Joseph men’s lacrosse team took on La Roche College on Saturday afternoon where they lost in a close game, 8-7. The Lions outshot the Red Hawks, 35-34, but committed 19 turnovers. The next game for the Mount is on Wednesday, March 25 at Schueler Field against Muskingum University.

Mike Weil (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) started the game for the Lions in goal, playing all 60 minutes with 15 saves on the day. Pat McClanahan (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) finished with two goals and assists, from nine shots, five of which were on goal. Joey Ely (Centerville, OH/Centerville) contributed by also scoring two goals in the game from his ten shots. Ely scored the last goal of the game with 2:31in the fourth quarter to put the Lions down by one.

Joey Leitch (Mason, OH/Mason) led the team in caused turnovers with three and recorded four ground balls. He went on to have one shot for the day, which ended up with a goal for the Lions.
