Box Score The Mount St. Joseph women’s lacrosse team took on Capital University in today’s home game where they fell by a score of 21-2. The Lions dropped to an overall record of 1-4 overall. Capital bettered their record to 4-1. Next home game for the Mount is on Tuesday, March 24 against Linfield College; while the Lions will be in action again tomorrow, March 22 with a game at ORLC-rival Franklin College.
The Lions started out fast, scoring the first goal of the game by Courtney Gleason (Cincinnati, OH/Seton). Gleason went on to score the only other goal for the Mount, both unassisted. She ended up with only two shots on the day which were both on goal. Gleason also caused one turnover and recovered a ground ball.
The Crusaders out-shot the Lions, 35-8, including 29-4 in shots on goal. Capital had 18 draw controls to the Mount’s seven. Katherine Mapes (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) and Bristyl Webb (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) each played one half in goal for the Lions.
