Mount baseball team suffers road setback at Earlham College

Host Earlham College jumped out to a 5-0 lead today after five innings, and held the Mount to just five hits, en route to an 8-0 HCAC win. The Lions, 6-7 overall, 1-3 in the HCAC, will return to action on March 27 with the start of a three-game weekend series at Defiance College.

The Lions managed only four singles, and a triple by Zach Farmer (Hamilton, OH/Lakota West) against two Quakers' pitchers over nine innings of play on Tuesday afternoon. The Mount left seven runners on base, and went zero-for-five with runners in scoring position.

Jacob Gunnell (Hamilton, OH/Fairfield) started and pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Mount, and was taggged with the loss, his first decision of the season.
