Junior midfielder Erica Walsh (Louisville, KY/Sacred Heart) scored three of her game-high seven goals in the first half, helping the Mount to a 9-2 lead at the intermission en route to a 16-4 win at Thomas More College on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions, 4-5 overall, 3-2 in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference, are back in action on April 4 with a conference game at Transylvania University.
The Lions scored the first five goals of the gamme against the Saints, in the first 8:03 of play, before Thomas More finally broke through on the scoreboard. Holding a seven goal advantage at the half, the Mount went on to post six straight unanswered goals, getting scores from four different scorers.
Walsh finished with two assists in the game, while teammate Courtney Gleason (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) added four goals and three assists. The Mount out-shot Thomas More 37-12 in the game, including 24-8 in shots on goal. Katherine Mapes (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) played all 60 minutes in goal for the Lions, making four saves.
