Box Score
The Lions' Madie Long (Columbus, OH/Hilliard Davidson) scored the go-ahead goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game on Sunday afternoon as the Mount knocked off previously undefeated in the ORLC opponent St. Vincent College, 13-12. The Lions ended the regular season with a three-game winning streak and holding an 8-7 overall mark, 6-3 in the conference. St. Vincent drops to 11-7, 8-1 and ties Thiel for first in the ORLC, while Washington and Jefferson College finishes 7-2 in the conference. The Mount and Transylvania University both end the season with identical 6-3 ORLC marks. The top four teams advance to the ORLC post-season tournament. The Mount was awaiting word late Sunday.
St. Vincent held an 8-6 lead at the half, as both teams converted a high rate of their shots on goal in the first 30 minutes of play. Goals by Nicole Sifri (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) and teammate Erica Walsh (Louisville, KY/Sacred Heart) enabled the Mount to tie the game at 8-all at 24:44 of the second half. St. Vincent College would tally four unanswered goals of their own, to make the score 12-8 with just over 22 minutes to play in the game, seemingly icing the win but the Lions had other ideas. The Mount would score the last five goals of the game, including two by Sifri and two by Walsh, to post the victory. Long's game-winner came off an assist from Courtney Gleason (Cincinnati, OH/Seton).
Walsh finished with a game-high five goals, while Sifri chipped in three goals. Long had two goals and five assists, while Gleason added two assists. Katherine Mapes (Cincinnati, OH/Cincinnati Country Day) played all 60 minutes in goal for the Mount, recording 10 saves.
