Mount St. Joseph baseball moves to 5-0 with two wins Sunday against Wilmington

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (5-0) hosted Wilmington College (0-5) at UC Health Stadium, the home of the Florence Freedom, and came away with a 8-7 win the first game and a 20-6 victory in the second game, preserving the Mount's perfect record on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game one scoring started late in the bottom of the fourth when Zach Farmer hit a solo home run to left field. The Lions scored 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh when Ryan McCauley ripped a two-run double followed by an RBI double by Matt Hofmann and a run-scoring triple by Nick Browning. The Lions added three more runs in the eighth inning to lock up the win. 

In the second game the Lions threw up 11 runs in the bottom of the first, starting with Hoffman tripling to right-center to bring Simon Schaefer in for the first run. Farmer and Mike Williams each had four RBI in the game.

UP NEXT 
The Lions will travel to Winter Haven, Fla. on March 6-10. The first games will be March 6th vs. Trine at 2:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
