Lions fall on the road to Earlham, 8-3

Box Score

LOCATION: Richmond, IN (Sadler Stadium)

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph pitchers had a combined 8 walks and the defense committed 3 errors, these mistakes were too much to overcome as the Lions fell to conference rival Earlham, 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions sent Austin Richey (0-4) to the mound to start the game, the freshman struggled out of the gate, in all Richey pitched 3 innings allowing 5 hits and 5 runs (2 earned) and surrendered 3 walks.

By the end of the 3rd innings the Lions had dug themselves a 4 run hole, and facing Earlham's Walter Talcott who is 7-0 and has the lowest ERA in the HCAC would prove to be too much for the Lions to overcome.

Nick Browning was the only Lion to have multiple hits in the contest, going 2 for 4.
