The Lions sent Austin Richey (0-5) to the mound to start the game, the freshman went 4.2 innings, surrendering 4 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and 3 walks. The Lions defense let him down in committing 3 errors in the game.
The Lions did not get anything from the top of their lineup, the top 4 hitters in the lineup went a combined 0-15 with 6 strikeout.
The lone bright spot offensively was catcher Darren Sackett who was the only Lion with multiple hits in the contest going 2 for 3.
