The Basics:
The Lions were challenged by the Trine offense early and struggled to take control of the game. After Trine jumped out to a demanding lead, the Lions weren't able to get back in the game. Trine ended with the win 9-2 over the Mount St. Joseph.
How it happened:
Throughout the first two quarters the competition was intense. Trine jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Seth Poirier (Somerville, OH) was able to connect with the net for the Lions to score their first goal of the game. The Lions continued to fight going into the second half. They were able to score once more in the third quarter. Tyler Lindholz (Springboro, OH/ Springboro) was able to get past the Trine defense to put one in the net as the Lions trailed 2-6. Mount St. Joseph would end the game coming up short to Trine with a final score of 9-2.
