The Basics:
The Lions struggled to match up to the leaders in the conference. Transylvania was able to score early and went up on the Lions 13-5 after the first half. They also outscored the Lions in the second half to defeat them with a final score of 19-9.
How it Happened:
The Lions started the action with a goal by Anna Thorner (Cincinnati, OH/ Mercy). She was able to give the Lions the 1-0 lead early. Transylvania answered with a string of goals to take the lead 6-1. Maria Sams (Cincinnati, OH/ Oak Hills) was able to score three goals for the Lions in the first half. Going into halftime the Lions trailed 13-5. At the beginning of the second half the Pioneers increased their lead to 10 with two more goals to go up 15-5. The Lions struggled to decrease the deficit and lost to the Pioneers 19-9.
