The Basics:
The Lions took on Ursuline in their first game of the season at home on Schueler Field. They struggled to get things started early and Ursuline took control of the game. Mount St. Joseph wasn't able to close the gap and fell to Ursuline with a final score of 18-6.
How it Happened:
Mount St. Joseph started off trying to set the tone. Ursuline came in ready to disrupt the Lions plan. The Lions fell behind to Ursuline after allowing them to jump to a 7 point lead. The team was able to get some points up on the board in the first half, coming off a goal from Madie Long (Columbus, OH/ Hilliard Davidson), and Maria Sams (Cincinnati, OH/ Oak Hills). They went into the locker room at halftime with the score at 12-2. In the second half Ursuline continued to give the Lions trouble. The Lions were able to get to the goal to score 4 more points, but fell to Ursuline with a final score of 18-6.
