The Basics:
For the Lions it would be the second home game in a row to start off the season they would face off with Ohio Wesleyan University. The Lions got off to a strong start in the game but were unable to keep up with The Battling Bishops. The Lions finished off the game falling to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 18-6.

How it Happened:

The  Lions got off to a strong start as starters Anna Thorner (Cincinnati, OH/ Mercy), Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH/ Little Miami) and Kara Marshall (Cleveland, OH/ Laurel) each notched their first goal of the young season, which lead Ohio Wesleyan to take a timeout with the Lions leading by a score of 3-1. Ohio Wesleyan took over after the timeout and started to attack our young Lions holding the advantage scoring six unanswered goals taking a 7-3 lead. Thats when Lions senior Kerstin Franken (Cincinnati, OH/ Walnut Hills) scored her first goal of the season, which cut the Lions deficit to only three. Ohio Wesleyan added five more goals before the first half ended. Anna Thorner scored her second goal of the season early in the second half, but Ohio Wesleyan kept on attacking scoring five more goals. Joy Glacken (Cleves, OH/ Taylor) scored her first goal of the season which brought the score to 17-6. Our Lions fell to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 18-6.
