The Basics:
The Lions started their conference season on the road against the Panthers of Hanover College. The Mount got off to a slow start ending halftime trailing the Panthers 7-3. The Lions finished off the game falling to Hanover with a final score of 12-5.
How it Happened:
Lions battled through the first half with captains Kara Marshall (Cleveland, OH/ Laurel) scoring first and Courtney Gleason (Cincinnati, OH/ Seton) getting two more goals to bring her total to four for the season and to finish the half with a score of 7-3. In the second half the defense battled to hold the Panthers to five goals with freshman goalie Sydney Vinel (Cincinnati, OH/ Seton) having a total of 13 saves. While Marshall grabs another goal and brings her season total to four goals and Kat Mapes (Cincinnati, OH/ Cincinnati Country Day) gets the first notch on her belt this season. The Mount fell short in their first conference competition with a final score of 12-5.
