The Basics:
The Mount had a rough start to the game at their home match up against the Pioneers of Carroll College. The Mount finished at halftime trailing the Colonels 10-4. The Lions finished off the game falling to Carroll with a final score of 17-5.
How it Happened:
The Pioneers started with 3 quick goals before the Mount got onto the board. Mount senior Courtney Gleason(Cincinnati, OH/Seton) got the team's first goal of the game on a free position shot. Carroll was able to tick four more goals until Kara Marshall(Cleveland, OH/Laurel) racked up goal number two for the game with an assist by fellow senior Gleason. The Lions went back and forth goal for goal getting two more goals for Gleason before the halftime buzzer rang. The Lions ended up with a halftime score of 10-4. When the second half came around the Mount fought through but letting the Pioneers get another seven goals and the Mount scored one more of our own by Marshall on an assist from Gleason bringing the game total to five. Ending the game with a final score of 17-5.
