The Basics:
Mount St. Joseph faced a strong ORLC competitor this past Wednesday. Transylvania was able to strike first and take the 2-0 lead early. The Lions were able to get on the board with a goal in the first period to make the score 2-1. After that, the Pioneers were able to take over and hold the Lions scoreless for the rest of the game.
How it Happened:
The game started with the Pioneers taking the early lead over the Lions, getting to the net twice in the first 3 minutes. The Lions were able to answer with a goal of their own from Seth Poirier (Somerville, OH/ Talawanda) to make the score 2-1 in the first period. The Mount struggled to contain the Pioneer offense and gave up multiple goals in the second quarter. The Lions trailed at the half with a score of 12-1. Standouts:
Poirier continues to be an offensive weapon for the Lions as he was able to score the lone goal in Wednesday's contest.
