Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - The Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Pennsylvania to take on the Cougars of Chatham University. The Mount could not find their groove and finished the game being defeated 3-26.
The first half was dominated by the Cougars and The Lions could not catch a break. When the first quarter finished The Mount found themselves trailing by 9 goals with a lot of ground to make up. In the second quarter The Lions were able to get onto the board with Kevin McClanahan (Madeira, OH/ Madeira) getting an assist from Seth Poirier (Somerville, OH/ Talawanda) to complete and bring the score at the end of the half 15-1.
In the third quarter McClanahan was able to get the ball past the goalie two more times one unassisted and one from Poirier again. This led to The Lions finishing the quarter with the score 3-22. The Mount was unable to make a comeback but in the last quarter of the game but they were able to hold the Cougars to only four goals and finish the game being defeated 3-26. The Lions have a tough road ahead of them before their next game but with one game under their belt they know what they have to do to make a splash once conference play comes around.
